I’m not sold on it yet, but at least I can say that it’s better than the previous one. It’s the only thing that I can customize visually so at least it has to be pretty.
On other unrelated news, I’ll probably upload a proof of concept tech demo made in Game Maker in a couple of days. I can’t use GM for the finished game though, it would require serious amounts of magic coding in the color department. All the fancy effects don’t come cheap, but add that to an already extremely inefficient platform and we are talking about a game that might be slow on NASA computers.
Anyways, for the final game I might go with Pygame, or C++ with SDL. It really depends on which of the two feels more comfortable.
