About

In a few words, my name is Diego Doumecq and I’m a university student trying to become a professional game designer. Besides filling this blog with my game design thoughts and critiques, I created a videogame called Casting Shadows that won second place in the CODEAR Single Screen RPG contest. But since it was made in spanish due to time constraints I don’t talk much about it here on this blog.

If you want to contact me, my email is deelede [at] yahoo [dot] com [dot] ar

At first Indigo Static was supposed to be a temporary blog, since the lack of html editing in the entries drives me insane, as well as the lack of customization for the templates. I flirted with the idea of buying my own servers and setting up wordpress there, but other things had more priority and now I kind of grew fond of this place. Eventually I’ll migrate, that’s a certain, but I’m in no hurry.

  1. Hi,

I run a small independent games company called Metal Beetle Ltd. We’re currently developing a game called “Space Exploration: Serpens Sector”. Since you run a games website, I thought you might be interested in hearing about the game.

SE:SS is a role-playing game based on classics like Starflight and Star Control. You are tasked with exploring the mysterious Serpens Sector after a long period of human absence. Each game has a different map and a different set of encounters, drawn from a large list. The base game will be free, and a purchasable expansion will add further encounters for those who enjoy the game and want to see more.

The game runs on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

We’ve just released a development preview version of it. The purpose of this development preview is both to generate interest in the game, and to get feedback from the public at a comparatively early stage in the development process. You can download the preview from http://www.metalbeetle.com/spaceexploration/download.php . Note that it’s still a “pre-alpha” version, and is not feature-complete or particularly polished!

    Regards,

    - David Stark

  2. I’ll give it a look ;)

I was going to say that these kind of personal messages would be more appropiate if you made them by email…. then I remembered that I didn’t have any contact info anywhere on the blog.

Oooops, well, now it’s here in the about page, where it should be.
